Chakras are seven wheels of energy turning up and through our body.
Each wheel has a designated color, scent, sound, posture, and food group that helps benefit and balance its energy center.
Pictured to the left and starting from the lowest wheel you will see the Root, Sacral, Solar Plexus, Heart, Throat, Third Eye, and Crown Chakras.
Our chakra system exchanges into an intricate network of nerves, meridian lines, and the spine.
They act as a machine that keeps us going.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF A BALANCED CHAKRA?
Our energy, thoughts, and feelings can easily become blocked, imbalanced, and misused. We live busy, stressful, demanding lives. It is important to restore ourselves daily. If we don’t, then we become irritated, depressed, drained, and anxiously operating on a low frequency.
Being off balance is quite serious and deserves some consideration. For example, the 4th Heart Chakra becomes imbalanced from unprocessed grief, seemingly feeling a lack of love, and is blocked from loss both mortuary and ended relationships. If this area is not restored and tended to life’s inevitable events, unresolved emotions, hurt, and pain can actually push into the shoulders. These daily ailments manifest in heartburn, mild chest pain, stiff shoulders, and even respiratory issues. Moreso, when the shoulders can no longer withstand the weight and pressure of the imbalance it sends everything down to the hips, or 2nd Sacral Chakra. The hips are the junk drawer of the body. When we don’t know what to do with something, we toss it in the junk drawer for later. We can end up with a lot of junk if we aren’t careful. An imbalanced 2nd chakra results in painful cramps, tight hips, fibromyalgia, and infertility. A blocked 5th Throat Chakra manifests in negative self-talk, gossiping, and an inability to speak your truth and express yourself clearly. Sadly, this can manifest with thyroid glandular issues.
Basically, all of our Chakras are connected and rely on each other to keep form and function at an optimal level with balanced, focused energy.
WAYS TO RESTORE AND BALANCE CHAKRAS
We can promote and maintain balance through the chakras in several ways. Yoga postures provide amazing capabilities to completely replenish the energy systems of the body. Also, through mindful breathing, we are able to slow the heart rate, and therefore control the circulation of blood throughout the physical body. The integration of movement in the physical body ultimately impacts the subtle or spiritual body energetically. Regularly practicing yoga provides us a connection that we can tap into during times of stress, pain, and trauma.
Food is also an invitation to restore and balance through nutrition. Each Chakra is assigned a specific color and ingesting those specific colors can help replenish beleaguered low vibrations – feeling sluggish.
Foods derived from the Earth’s soil itself are the most beneficial and eating an abundance of fruits, vegetables, and legumes daily helps ward off illness.
Consider eating green foods for balancing the Heart Chakra, red foods for Healing the Root Chakra, and so forth. It is essential to consume nutrition mindfully, consisting of many different colors offering a variety of vitamins and minerals. You can use this as an opportunity to try new fruits, vegetables, and legumes, you otherwise would not consider.
Lastly, it’s very important to reconnect with you, and sometimes that means just getting away from your every day, and opening up to something completely replenishing.
Perhaps even doing something so refreshing, you actually feel transformed and elevated. An experience to reset your purpose, adjust your mundane perspective, and deeply feel your beautiful soul.
